Irma David is the sister of
well-known Hopi artist Neil David Sr. From Polacca, at First
Mesa, Irma is a traditionalist in every sense.
She is humble and down to
earth. Most of her work is made for visitors who come to see
her village, often stopping in at her home or her brother's.
Never having taken up pottery
in the ambitious sense, Irma has been largely overlooked in the
Pueblo pottery world. Certainly her elaborate designs and traditional
methods would merit the attention and awards of the various markets.
We are pleased to offer the
work of Irma David on a regular basis. If you like this piece
or would like to see more work by Irma in the future, just let
us know!
